As women, we lead busy lives. It is vital that we set time aside and apart for spiritual renewal and transformation. This women’s retreat will focus on the lives of few biblical women and explore how their lives are relevant to us today. Prepare yourselves for a day of wonderful fellowship, good food, new and renewed friendships, and much fun as we are refreshed in God’s presence.
The Rev. Dr Lillian Daniel has served as the Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn since 2004. She is also a prolific writer, co-host of the television series 30 Good Minutes, and a frequent speaker and preacher at churches, schools, and conferences around the country. Her newest book, This Odd and Wondrous Calling: The Public and Private Lives of Two Ministers, co-authored by Martin B. Copenhaver is a humorous and honest look at the ministry.
Merlyn Lawrence is a Master of Divinity student at Chicago Theological Seminary and a member of First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn. She is also a licensed clinical social worker with decades of experience working with women. For two years she served as Moderator of the UCC’s 26th General Synod presiding at its historic 50th anniversary in 2007. Merlyn is an international speaker, presenter and author on a variety of topics.
