Michele Hecht is the Director of Music Ministry at First Congregational Church. Michele teaches music to people of all ages. She has worked as an elementary general/vocal music teacher and as a coordinator and guest conductor for choral festivals. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music at the University of Illinois, a Master's Degree from Roosevelt University and also studied conducting at the Kodaly Institute in Hungary. Michele enjoys singing professionally; she has performed with the Holy Name Cathedral Singers, Chicago Choral Artists, Voices Chicago, Cincinnati May Festival Chorus and DuPage Opera Theater 5 . Michele had the privilege of conducting the FCC choir in its own featured concert at Carnegie hall in 2008.
