Michael J. Hoskinson (Mike) has joined FCCGE as a seminary intern for 2009-2010.  He has done graduate theological studies at Loyola University’s Institute of Pastoral Studies, the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, and now at Chicago Theological Seminary (CTS).  Mike served a chaplaincy internship at Northwest Community Hospital.  He expects to graduate from CTS this May with the Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) degree.  He will then serve a residency at an area hospital or hospice with the goal of becoming a full-time chaplain. 

Mike earned the Bachelor of Arts from Quincy University, Quincy, Illinois, where he graduated with honors, including top department honors in English Literature.  His minor was music performance.  Mike then helped found the youth retreat program at Resurrection Center in Bull Valley, Illinois (still operating).  Mike is looking forward to going with the Senior High youth on their fall retreat to Tower Hill.  After three years of retreat work, Mike entered the business world.  He worked in the Employee Benefits field, first in pricing, then in brokerage/consulting.  He earned the designation Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) from the Wharton School of Business/University of Pennsylvania.  In 2005, with two grown sons, one in the Marines and one an actor (comedy improv), Mike entered seminary to go back to his first love, ministry.  Mike and his wife, Julie, have been members of FCCGE since October 2008.  They live in Bloomingdale with Buddy, their fifteen year-old-dog and two cats, Maya and Jeb.
